Ephix Pulse is a trending-tracker for films and TV, available as a website at ephix.net and as an Android app. This policy explains what is collected, why, and who it reaches. It covers both.

The short version. There are no accounts and no logins. Nothing you save is sent to a server. The app shows no ads, contains no advertising SDK, and does not use your device's advertising ID. The website uses Google Analytics; the app does not.

What is collected

Website (ephix.net)

The website uses Google Analytics 4 (property G-5XX60C0HK1) to understand how the site is used. This records standard analytics data — pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP address, device and browser type, and referring site — and sets Google Analytics cookies in your browser.

It also records interaction events for individual titles, including the TMDB identifier, media type, list rank and Pulse Score of the title you interacted with. This is used to see which titles and features people find useful. It is not linked to a name, email address or account, because the site has none.

Android app

The app contains no analytics SDK and collects no usage data.

If — and only if — you turn on notifications, the app requests a push token and sends it to ephix.net/api/push-register along with the platform name ("android"). A push token is a delivery address for your app install. It is not an advertising identifier, and it is not tied to your identity. It is used solely to deliver the "New in Top 25" notification.

Your saved list, filters and cached data are stored on your device only and are never transmitted.

Trakt, the YouTube Data API and Wikimedia pageview data are requested by our servers, not by your device. Those providers see our server, not you.

What is never done

No advertising ID is read or used, on any platform.
No advertising SDK is included, and no ads are shown.
No data is sold, rented or shared with data brokers.
No cross-app or cross-device tracking, and no advertising profiles.
No accounts, so no names, emails, passwords or contact lists.

How long it is kept

Push tokens — kept while notifications are enabled. Turning notifications off in the app, or uninstalling it, stops delivery; tokens that stop working are discarded.
Analytics — retained according to the Google Analytics retention setting for the property.
On-device data — stays until you clear the app's storage or uninstall.

Your choices

Notifications — entirely optional, off until you enable them, and revocable at any time in the app or in Android settings.
Analytics — browser "do not track" and content blockers will stop the Google Analytics script from loading.
Access or deletion — because there are no accounts, there is generally no personal record to retrieve. If you believe data relating to you is held, contact us below and it will be removed.

Children

Ephix Pulse is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes

If what is collected changes, this page and the app's Play Store data-safety declaration will be updated together, and the date at the top will change.
